#6 What is the difference between the Entry button and the CCI√ button?
The purpose of the Analysis Engine Screen (Entry button) is to allow you to analyze an unlimited amount of CPT/HCPCS codes along with an unlimited amount of ICD codes. The analysis process will check for:
------ICD code specificity,
------NCCI unbundling edits, and
------Medical Necessity ICD to CPT/HCPCS pairing
It also allows you to make changes to your selections if need be, such as selecting a modifier to justify unbundling, adding a medical necessity ICD code, or selecting a more specific ICD code.

The CCI√ feature allows you to quickly check any two(2) CPT/HCPCS codes to see if they trigger an unbundling edit. If an edit applies, use of a modifier will be explained and the results can be printed. However, no changes to the code pair, such as adding a modifier, are allowed at this screen.
